Foundation Rwanda |
Foundation Rwanda's mission is to provide funding for the secondary school education of children born from rape during the 1994 genocide. Also, they link their mothers to existing psychological and medical support services. And lastly they create awareness about the consequences of genocide and sexual violence through photography and new media. This year, utilizing only the 2 New Jersey dates of the warped tour, our henna tattoo crew was able to raise over $1500 for foundation Rwanda. That's enough to sponsor 10 children to go to school for one fiscal year! Providing temporary henna tattoos was just one unique way to get involved with this incredible organization. Feel free to visit their website at www.foundationrwanda.org for other ways to get involved as well their information and upcoming events. |

Greenpeace |
Greenpeace had the pleasure of joining the Vans Warped Tour for the first time in 2009. While being part of the tours 15th anniversary, Greenpeace came armed with our solar powered truck "Rolling Sunlight," where we served as hosts to the Unite The United area for solar generated power. While being on the tour, Greenpeace collected over 10,000 signatures and email address from attendees to ask President Obama to go to Copenhagen in December to represent the United States at the United Nations Climate Change Conference. In addition, over 6,000 attendees check off the volunteer box for future Greenpeace events. The Greenpeace artist outreach program gained great exposure and relationships with artists on the tour. The relationships we built helped us further our engagement with the audiences. This included in tent performances, signings and "shout outs" supporting Greenpeace from the stage encouraging the fans to come learn more about the organization. Greenpeace is very thankful and appreciative for the inclusion of participation on the 15 Year anniversary of the Vans Warped Tour and look forward to many more to come. |

Rock For Autism |
Rock for Autism is a non-profit agency working to raise Autism awareness and provide aid to families who are struggling with raising children afflicted with this disorder. By working through connections in the action sports and music community, RFA intends to fight autism by supporting schools with autism programs and creating after school activities and programs for these students to participate in. As no two cases of Autism are alike, with every case requiring different needs and attention, providing meaningful education to children with autism has become a costly service that most publicly funded schools cannot afford. RFA will raise funds to support these services through a variety of ways. They include; soliciting major national companies for donations, selling merchandise at concerts and sporting events and managing bands, just to name a few. |
